I just wanted to share. This might be old hat to some of you. Well, I've tried several things and nothing seemed to be as good as bleach to clean the bathroom. (I found out that vinegar is horrible for porcelain.) Then one day, I sprinkled in some oxyclean powder, squirted in some Sal's Suds and scrubbed with minmal water. It came out sparkling. I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. The powder oxyclean doesn't dissolve completely and becomes a nice mild abrasive, in addition to "bleaching" the tub. Just wanted to share.

Why is vinegar bad for porcelain? Just wondering cause I love to use baking soda and vinegar in the bathtub!

I use vinegar and baking soda too, sometimes a bit of borax. Very nice and clean and disinfected.

What is sal's suds? Like castille soap maybe?
I need to do oxiclean too, I hate the smell of bleach but its the only thing so far that gets the mold off the grout...

i use borax or baking soda, salt, and a bit of dawn.
