Snap Press and plastic snaps

Does anyone know where to find a snap press in Edmonton as well as some plastic snaps to make homemade diapers? I can only find snap tape, which is defintiely not going to work and nothing for a press. If not, is there a good Canadian online store to purchase from?
Also wondering where I can find waterproof fabric? Went to Marshall's and they weren't very helpful, sent me to the outdoor section and told me to use vinyl???...Fabricland had "diaper liner" which I purchased a yard of to try and go in between the layers, just not sure it's what I was looking for either...

Re: Snap Press and plastic snaps

I tried to find a snap press and PUL as well and was told the same as you. Fabricland sold me the same vinyl type material but it isn't flexible enough and chaffes baby. I found that you need to order both online. There are lots of sites that sell just enough PUL to make any size diaper cover for pretty decent price. There is an online store/WAHM here in Red Deer that sells PUL. Her site is bumbyonline.com.
As for the snap press...they aren't cheap but I figure if you're gonna make them to sell them it's worth it, if not, not so sure if I would invest.

Re: Snap Press and plastic snaps

wazoodle sells PUL, it is canadian, but I have heard mixed reviews of customer service. I joined the yahoo group notion supply and bought snap pliers and snaps for $30 US postage paid. She also sells presses. Her name is Serena she is a DS momma also. She is in China but the airlift shipping was super quick only 8 or 9 days for me. Hope it helps. Here is a link to to group to join if you are interested.

Re: Snap Press and plastic snaps

I buy my snaps and pliers from www.kamsnaps.com They are from the USA but super fast and great customer service. wazoodle is not bad. Good prices but do'nt order from them if you are in a super hurry. shipping is not too bad if you order a lot.
MArshalls is great for knits and flannel though. I buy minky from them and also fleece for soakers.

Oh, and I'd totally be up for a 'mini coop' if you put in a wazoodle order to save shipping!
