Diaper Swappers

I had a emerency C for my first and a successful VBAC (no-mads) for my second. I am expecting my third now and was wondering is it is necessary to be as concerned/careful with my next delivery?

ANy one had more than one VBAC or know and info on this?

I have had 7 VBAC's and have never been told that the risk increases. My current midwife says she basically considers me to never have had a c-section risk wise but I know every time I've had to have a baby in the hospital they always plan for the worst case scenario. Anesthesiologists have to stay on hand the entire time I'm in labor "just in case," we had to transfer from a homebirth to the hospital with my last because I went into labor 5 weeks early and the doctor who took my case stayed on the floor the entire time, even sleeping on the OB floor just in case. I think for some people they can be more dangerous. For me they haven't been. Just more red tape to work with at the hospital because they are trained to be more vigilant with someone who has had a c-section and want extra monitoring and such.

that is awesome that you have that kind of support with the OB and hospital...I'm planning a vbac with this pregnancy (my first was vag. delivery, second was c-section)...and my OBGYN just changed their policy and no longer allow vbac's because their malpractice insurance requires them to be at the hospital for the vbac hopeful's entire labor...which is something they are not willing to do

anyway, I'm switching OB's this week and I'm excited! Glad to hear you've gotten support and had so many successful vbac's!

Nope, the risk of rupture decreases after the first VBAC, and after the 2nd VBAC as well.

I've had 2 successful VBACs. I am pretty sure your chances decrease with each subsequent VBAC, rather than increase. The OB that attended this last delivery (8 weeks ago) was WAY more cautious than my own OB, who did my 1st VBAC. All turned out well though.
