Re: Quinoa recipes
I just cook it in the rice cooker with veggie broth instead of water, and I add garlic powder, salt, pepper, onion powder bell peppers and cilantro. Delicious

I love this one. I just leave out the frozen green beans.

Re: Quinoa recipes
I just cook it in veggie broth and add ground black pepper, sun dried tomatoes and toasted pine nuts. I works well as side dish or cold salad the next day.

Re: Quinoa recipes
just until all of the broth is absorbed, toasting it does not really change the cook time much, just gives it a deeper flavor.

I make it just like the recipe says, with one addition. After the onions and garlic (does the recipe call for garlic, or is that my addition, too?) are cooked, I add the dry quinoa and "toast" it for a few minutes before adding the broth. I've found that this helps reduce the bitterness of the quinoa. Oh, and I also use a little extra cumin. I love this recipe! Yum. Maybe this will be dinner tonight!

Re: Quinoa recipes
My girls' favorites are:
1) quinoa with black beans, chickpeas, almonds, kidney beans, corn, and curry powder to taste 2) quinoa salad--red quinoa, grapes, chickpeas, golden raisins, cilantro, dried cranberries, and whatever else you want to throw in! Quinoa is a staple at our house--it's so easy to just throw things in and make a meal. Just use whatever you have around!!
