How long do you wait to tell?

With DD, we told our close family and friends at 6-7 weeks. We had planned to wait longer, but we just couldn't! I would guess we told the "whole world" we were expecting when I began showing around 4 months.

When we became pregnant again last fall, we told our close family at about 6 wks again. Unfortunately, we miscarried @ 11wks, but I'm glad we shared our the news of our pregnancy, because it meant that we had support from the people closest to us, during and after our loss. The miscarriage was very difficult for us, and I don't think I could've concealed my pain from those who were close to us. I've always heard that you shouldn't tell anyone you are pregnant until the threat of miscarriage has largely passed at 12 wks, but after my experience, I don't feel that is very good advice, because then you are left alone to cope with the loss.
