She can sign "milk"

The last month we have been signing "milk"to DD before and during each feed, while saying milk.

Well the past week she has done it now and then. Today she has done it each time we asked her if she wanted milk!!!!

I think this is going to be our work/sign for nursing when she is older and can speak.

Now to teach DS to say milk and to stop screaming BOOBIES and NIPPLES when ever I pull them out to nurse....haha

Your baby is 4 months old? Wow! That is really early for signing! I think my first did it around 11 months, and my 2nd has yet to sign at 12 months. Congrats!

Re: She can sign "milk"

Awww that's awesome! I started teaching my DD to sign "milk" around 7 or 8 months and by 9 months she was doing it. I remember how proud I was. That is so great she is doing it at 4 months. Isn't it the cutest thing ever?

Re: She can sign "milk"

We signed with DS and we have just started signing with DD. DS used a number of signs (milk, ball, light, more, eat, drink, dog...), but as he learned to speak he gradually stopped using the signs with the exception of milk, which he continued to use for nursing until after he was 2.

Using baby sign language is the BEST! Even if they don't catch on right away, they are paying attention and getting the important concept that they can communicate with you early on... it makes a huge difference! Seems like your LO is a communicator so definitely take advantage of that and start signing more to her. There are some great classes/videos out there.
