How do you cook lentils???

I just made my first pot, and they are pretty good. I used chicken stock and a little onion powder, but I'm wanting other ideas!! They are soooo afordable, and very healthy!

My hubby likes to cook up different kinds of lentils with some spicy sausage for flavor. He also will mix in rice sometimes, barley might be good to.

I haven't tried to cook them yet. But, there was a really good episode of "Good Eats" on foodnetwork that featured them. You could search their site for some ideas.

We just had some recently. I cooked them in water and then threw them in with Basmati rice, ground beef, eggs, onions, and seasoned with salt, pepper, and saffron.
