Need suggestions - unsweetened carob chips & evaporated milk

HI all of you wonderful cooking mamas!!!!

I have some questions...

I unknowingly bought some unsweetened carob chips. They are gross!! I tried putting them in "choc. chip" cookies tonight and it's kinda weird tasting.. so, what can I do with the rest that I didn't use??

Also, I have about 3/4 of a can of evaporated milk. What an I make w/it?


Any suggestions??

e-milk can be subbed for heavy cream in cooking recipes (such as a red pasta sauce…add the e-milk to make it a "creamy red sauce)---but, don't use in baked goods in place of heavy cream. It won't turn out well.

As for unsweetened carob chips…never heard of them!? Are they a sub for unsweetened chocolate??

yes, i think they are... we put some in cookies and then added a bunch of other regular chocolate so they aren't so bad.. but by themselves.. ya like eating unsweetened chocolate. but, they are in chips - not blocks or powder

Do you already have recipes that call for unsweetened chocolate? I've not used this product, but I assume you could give it a try…like all food subs, it's going to be different than the "original" product.

I do have recipes for you, though, if you're looking for some that call for unsweetened chocolate, so that you can sub it.
