Breast Pumps

Ok, I have a single medela swing single electric breast pump. I really like how gentle it is but it is so slow. Takes about 30 to 45 minutes (or more!!!) per side!!!! I have used a lot cheaper ones and got much faster (though not as gentle results). Anyway I have heard the Avent pumps are great. I think I would prefer a double electric as then it is so much faster. Any advise on the two brands? Thanks!!!

Re: Breast Pumps

I just bought an avent double electric, I'm really impressed so far. I had good luck with the avent manual, this one is really adjustable and therefore, gentle. I'm able to pump as much with the new avent as I did with the medela symphony I had rented from the hospital.

Happy mama to my 4 handsome boys

I have the Medela Pump in Style Advanced & really like it. Plus you could use the Medela accessories from your old pump as an extra set.

Re: Breast Pumps

I had a PISA with my son, but I burned out the motor in it and the warranty was expired, so when I was pregnant with DD I needed to get a new pump. This time I bought a Lansinoh double electric pump, which is very similar to, possibly even exactly the same as except for the color, the Ameda Purely Yours.

I like my Lansinoh pump. The only down side is it doesn't come with a bag, but I am just going to use a tote bag or a large purse. I have a separate cooler bag for the pumped milk.

I also really like my PISA. The only other pump I have experience with is the Symphony from the hospital, so my range of experience isn't huge, but the PISA does the job in about 20 minutes for me.

Re: Breast Pumps

I have the avent duo and really really like it's output, however I had an issue with the cable connection. I contacted CS and they've been very helpful and are sending one out to me, but it's been backorderd for 30 days. I hope to have it in a couple of weeks as it's almost been two weeks. My pump for some reason didn't come with the parts to use it as a manual, so CS sent that stuff out no questions asked and I recieved it in about 4-5 days. I can't wait to get the new cable so I can start really pumping again. I was impressed with the output I was getting, even though I had only used it about 5-6x. I would recommend it, as I think I just got a version that had an issue which can happen with anything!
