Handspun Yarn - quick question!

I have never bought fiber, but have had a pair of handspun longies that were absolutely

My particular questions at the moment are - 1. Would 80's Merino make for good longies (not familiar with it!)??? 2. Spinning 8oz of fiber, how much would you have approximately yardage wise?

TIA!!

80's superfine merino is super soft and is good for a pair of longies It may pill a bit, perhaps more than a fiber like BFL would, but it would be super soft and cozy!

You can expect 160-240 yards of yarn per 4 oz of fiber, so that would set you at 320-480 yards of yarn from the fiber. At the higher end of yardage you will have a lighter worsted and the lower end of yardage a thicker worsted. HTH!

I have not felt any handspun SF merino that felt like Cestari. Cestari has a cotton-y feel, the SF handspun just feels soft.
