Hi all, I wanted to post a question, because I'm feeling a little weird about officially "TTC." DD (just turned 1) just happened, we weren't trying, I just got pregnant. DH and I wanted children close together, so this past December, we decided to not officially TTC, but to not prevent it anymore. I got pregnant right away, and unfortunately lost the pregnancy at 11 weeks. We still want our children to be close together, and in the past month we've finally felt emotionally ready to try again, and we've been given the "go ahead" from our doctor, so we've been officially TTC. I have to say that there is something very different about TTC than just "letting it happen." So April was the first month we TTC, AF was a few days late for me, everything seemed different, and I was just sure I was pregnant. But when I got AF on Friday night, it about broke my heart. Now I don't want to sound ungrateful, because we are SO blessed to have DD, and I know these things can take time...but can anyone relate to what I'm feeling and how do you deal with TTC not being successful on a month to month basis?

Re: New at "TTC"

mama. TTC can be difficult! Keep in mind though that there's only about a 25% chance each month of getting pregnant, even when you time the BDing just right. As disappointing as getting AF can be, it's pretty typical to try for a few cycles or more before getting pregnant. I tried for my first for nearly a year before she was conceived; it definitely sucked there at the end, and it really wasn't even that long. Then my second two were non- ttc babies, so it can happen both ways.

One thing that came out of the ttc thing though, that was really great, was that I learned a lot about my cycle and about fertility in general. If we hadn't had trouble, I may never have known that. It really is interesting to learn about your fertile times, the signs, etc. So many women don't know that stuff and it's so important.

Anyway... ((hugs)) and hopefully you will have success soon.
