Stinky Pees

(And not just in my diapers!)

My 3 year old's pee stinks. Bad.
He can pee on our floor (potty training is just not going very far with him) and both our rooms will stink for days.

The minute he pees, weather in undies, pull-up, cloth training pants, naked, you can smell it almost instantly.

The few cloth diapers/trainers we have for him REEK. I cannot get the stink out. I cannot justify doing his butt-wash load every day for 2 or 3 items, but if they sit in a pail for 2 days you almost pass out from the ammonia.

Little guy WILL pee in the toilet. We're about 50/50, sometimes 75/25 on that. His urine is not bright orange indicating dehydration. Nice and clear/light yellow.

I dunno. What could be causing this?

Sometimes a foul smell could mean a bladder infection. If this is a new thing I'd have it checked out. My dd had smelly pee when she was 3 mo, and then I saw blood stains in her prefolds. Bladder infection! Good luck.

Yep, I'd have him checked out for a UTI just in case!

I would check out UTI. Another cause could be Diabetes.
I would take your child to the Dr. this week.
