Re: Flats Picture Thread
So I started trying a different fold. It's not pretty, but it works (I'd recommend it for inside a cover).
![]() Fold in half (top to bottom or bottom to top). ![]() Fold in the sides sort of like you would with a paper airplane. ![]() Fold the left side over the middle (not in half) sticking out over the top a little bit. ![]() Fold the right side over the same way, and pull the left hand wing up (which is now on the right-hand side) while holding down the middle. ![]() Fold down the rise and fold up the front. ![]() Fold the wings in (inside or outside of the diaper) and pin... ![]() ...or Snappi. Like I said, it's not pretty at all (especially in the back, which I forgot to take a picture of), but it has a lot of layers without being bulky.

This thread has been inspirational! I'm brand new to flats and am so excited to try them! I've only ever really used prefolds before and liked them alright but I think I'm going to LOVE flats! I've just ordered 3 dozen for our baby due in less than 3 weeks. I've also made a few soakers and will be making some longies soon for winter. I'll try to get some pictures of my newest addition after he/she arrives.
Thanks to all of you for sharing pictures and tutorials. They have been very helpful!

Re: Flats Picture Thread
Oh, I wanted a new fold. Thank you! I just found flats and have been using receiving blankets very effectively! If I only knew when I started. All the time and money I could have saved!!!!! Flats are my new "thing"

Re: Flats Picture Thread
It's not fancy, but it works. I use cheapo receiving blanket that I picked up at garage sales. I actually found 10 for $1 last week. I like the origami fold a lot, but am starting to look into more on YouTube
![]() I think I need to tweak the right side a bit after I post this..
