Slowcooker staples
Hello all
For Fathers Day I want to make my Dad a "slowcooker starter kit". For a little bit of a backstory, he recently accepted a job where he works from home, and he's been talking a lot about using his slowcooker again. He used it constantly during his single days, but since he married my step-mother he hasn't done much cooking, and she tends to do things her own way and wants him to stay out of the way (but that's a rant for another day...). His diet is much healthier than his wife's. So I'm planning on making up labelled jars with some pantry staples that are great for slow cooking that are all his own. Help me come up with some ideas of things to grab? He's an omnivore (I'm veggie, so I may buy him some boullion cubes but that's as close to meat as he's getting from me lol). So far I'm thinking: Rice Barley Pasta Lentils Split Peas Assorted beans Chicken/Beef Boullion Cubes Sundried Tomatoes Milk powder? Any other ideas? TIA
