Re: Best carrier for a toddler????

Guess I'm the oddball For toddlers my favorite is a wrap (up to 4 years.. ds still thinks he can get piggybacks) but definitely not a stretchy knit one like ultimate baby! Something "woven" like Ellaroo or Didymos. Mei tais are great too, I use one sometimes, but not as often.

Re: Best carrier for a toddler????

I love my mei tei for long sessions (my fave is the back carry) and hate it for short ones. I use a non stretch cotton pouch w/ a hip carry for short sessions. I just made a stretchy ring sling last week for my new babe coming up, and tried it w/ my toddler and it was horrible. Too much give for the weight for sure. My toddler is in the low 30's for weight.

I can't say enough good things about my Beco. . . SUPER comfortable for looooong carries, rolls up and has a stay-put strap to wear around your waist if LO wants to run around a while then climb back in, beautiful prints, well-made, and Gabby is really nice! But I also heard that the Angelpack LX is really nice as well!

Re: Best carrier for a toddler????

Next to cd, carriers are my other obsession

I have a kangaroo korner pouch which I love for short sessions. Very easy to do a hip carry on my 31 pound 22 month old and even my 30 lb 3 year old. I also have a hip carrier but I hate clips and such and find the pouch very quick and easy to use. I also have a mei tei for back carrying but it isn't as easy to put on (I need help) and it hurts my back after a while. With the hip carry, I can hold some of the weight with my arms, but the boys love being carried on my back.
