Mother of the Day June 23/24 is hadfield531

Enjoy Kayla's answers to her first set of questions and jump in with some of your own questions!

What is your favorite kind of soup?
Egg Drop!

Have you ever spent time as a vegetarian/vegan?
Part-time vegetarian I'll eat some chicken when I need to.

What is your #1 hot topic and why?
nutrition! Because I've lost over 40 pounds by changing my eating habits and leaarning more about what I am putting into my body and how it functions once ingested. If it doesn't do something beneficial for my body--I won't put it in my mouth!

Tell us about your backyard - big, small, muddy, dry, sand, grass, swing set?
pie-shaped, 1/2 acre, SANDY!!! Grass where it wants to cooperate, and sand holes everywhere else 2 swing sets that were connected together as one, one little climber toddler slide that is separate, sand/water table, and a nice big trampoline!

What kind of car do you drive and do you love it or hate it?
Buick Rendezvous--HATE it!!!! Love the space, HATE the mechanics. If you're considering buying one--read consumer reports--the reviews weren't joking! Good thing we bought the extended warranty on that thing!

Do you like carpet on your floors or would you prefer wood/tile/other?
I like plush neutral or white carpet. If I can't have that, I like wood! I currently have neither

What are you most nervous about with this pregnancy...the pregnancy itself, the fact that there is a new baby to adjust to, nursing, diapering, etc?
Problems were detected with my baby's heart, and there were a lot of "soft" markers of Down's--scared of all the unknowns that can't be discovered until baby arrives.

What size is your TV in your main room?
36 inches?

What is your favorite TV show or movie of all time?
Lately? GLEE! Yes, I'm a Gleek

If you had to choose one childhood toy you adored, what would it be?
My stuffed dog, Frankie. Still have him

What's your favorite holiday and why?
Don't really have one. Holidays have been a painful reminder that we are very alone here. We have no friends/family here to celebrate with...

Re: Mother of the Day June 23/24 is hadfield531

Sorry I missed the thread when it was posted!

Um, my cravings....they have really changed with this pregnancy, as I really changed my diet and lifestyle in the last year and a half. I lost 40 pounds by changing those two things, and learned to crave healthy things. I crave salads with basalmic vinegarette and lots of fresh veggies on it, I crave strawberries, mango, asparagus, potatoes, anything with blueberry in it, fresh green beans, onions, kiwi, cherries, and chicken salad and oven-toasted turkey subs and oven-toasted veggie subs (loaded with peppers and tomatoes and olive oil and chipolte mustard!!). I am really turned off to pretty much every other food, so making dinners has been a difficult challenge. Between my food aversions and their food allergies, cereal and PB&J sandwiches have been the main dinner served throughout this pregnancy (*blush*). Carbs are a huge aversion, so pastas have been difficult for me to LOOK at, let alone cook, and everyone's picky on everything else I am able to make without gagging!

As I re-read through my answers, I roled my eyes at the one about our car...just got home from dropping it back off at the shop AGAIN!!!!!! My ABS has been kicking on every time I try to brake, so I have been "sliding" through stops and intersections like it's mid-january when it's the end of June!! I REALLY hate that thing! Consumer Reports does NOT LIE! Car salemen however, DO. We just found out from the MECHANIC that our car had been in a ROLLOVER accident!!!! UGH!!!! Okay, end vent. LOL
