you might check the fsot inserts and grab a couple different kinds of material and see what works best

I had the same issues when I first started cloth. You'll get the hang of it. I really like fleece and wool for a cover. You may want to give these a try to. I also agree with trying different types of inserts. I have stinky issues with MF but they do work really well if you can clean them effectively (I just don't have the knack).

I do put a PUL cover on if I am going to be out for a while and I use a prefold with a fleece topped hemp doubler in it for extra absorbancy. Hemp is my favorite.

Keep trying different things, you'll get the hang of it!

I also would put one of those stay dry mattress cover things under my LO for naps and bedtime in the beginning before I had things under control for sleeping. It cut down on changing the bed all the time.

Good Luck!

try the flip organic inserts! they are super absorbent. i think it's often just a matter of trial and error to see what works for you and your baby. welcome back to cd'ing!

We get 4+ hours out of ONE microfiber insert. Never have leaks. I think your wash routine is just as important, if not more so, than your diaper. Using the wrong detergent (or too much of the right one) can leave build-up on your diapers, which causes them to repel. Have you tried stripping them? What kind of soap do you use?

mf does hold on to stink more but it's alot cheaper then buying bamboo or hemp and having twins I would think that would be a better option Hemp is nice though but pretty pricey imo

Hi! I had this same problem with pocket diapers too, it was so frustrating. My son is a heavy wetter and it leaked a lot around the legs but sometimes the insert was not even soaked. Not sure how old your son is but I would always put a onesie on mine and it would be tighter around the snaps and I think it would squeeze right in the wetting area and then it would cause the diaper to leak instead of allow the rest of the pee to be soaked up. This might have been my imagination but I attribute it to that somewhat. Also I had to get used to changing more often. Still have a hard time with that! Good luck, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it again!

LOTS of questions for the newbie...and me:
Are the microfiber auto motive towels soft? And do they need pretreatment...like many hot washes? or boiling for a bit? ? Are they actually called microfiber? ? Is it a type of cotton?
Also would a fabric store carry microfiber by the yard as the least expensive way to get the stuff. And would it be labeled microfiber
