Dyes and perfumes in detergents.

What really is the issue with additives to detergents? From what I have read, it is mostly to avoid any sensitivity issues for baby's bottom. Do things such as dyes, perfumes, enzymes effect the absorbency? I know fabric softener does, but I just wonder about the other things.

Re: Dyes and perfumes in detergents.

Hmm, if no one knows, can someone help me find an answer to this?

You might find the answer to that somewhere on www.allaboutclothdiapers.com.

My understanding is that many detergents without fabric softener can cause build-up on the diapers, but I'm not sure it's the dye, perfume, or enzymes. It could be other ingredients.

Many things other than dyes, perfumes, and enzymes can cause skin reactions too.
