Is it ok to soak your poopy????

Ok, Last ? I promise!!!!
When ya'll get a poopy and you shake poop in potty or whatever. Do you soak it in water or just put it in wet bag?? And if I am soaking is it safe to put some kind of cleaner in with it soaking til I wash??? Or should I just wait for wash??????

Re: Is it ok to soak your poopy????

We rinse and soak poo dipes to prevent staining, but only if it's a diaper without elastic or velcro (so flats and prefolds only- the rest get rinsed and go in the dry pail). That's because I use an additive called biotex, which contains biological enzymes. I think it may be similar to biokleen in the States, but thats just a guess. Many mamas use that on their dipes.

I've usually dunk and swish poo and then store dry. UNLESS I know I am doing diaper laundry within 24 hours or so, then I soak them in cold water bucket. But trust me, that bucket gets very nasty after 24 hours. I really don't see a difference between the ones we soak and don't, we never had stains either way.

I shake the poopy off and then toss it in my dry pail with the rest of the diapers. Sometimes I don't even get all the poop off - just most of it. I usually wash every 2 to 3 days. I alwasys do an initial cold wash with a cold rinse. Then I wash hot with detergent and 2 cold rinses. No issues here.

I guess that I do! I use a hanging wet bag for everything, then at night, I put them in a big trash can I keep beside my washer.. I get the poo off right when it happens, but I spray everything off at night and they soak til wash day.. every other day.. No stains and no stinks.
