Re: Nursing a 10mth old

Katrina is 8 months and is doing this badly now! We're not often in public, so I haven't had that issue to deal with yet, but it is impossible to get her to be still for an entire feeding. I'm feeding her almost as often as I did when she was a newborn because she NEVER gets a full feeding in. Making her go longer between nursings is defintely something that helps because she is hungry enough to make it her priority. But there's no way for me to keep the distractions away because I have a 2yo, and my only options are to have him RIGHT there distracting her, or in another room probably making a huge mess or breaking something. Kat loves to stick her fingers up my nose, that one is definitely getting OLD! When she pulls away from me to play for a second I give her one chance to come back (by calling her name) and if she breaks away again I end the session and try again later.

LOTS of sympathy! Wish I could help you more.
