That pic actually looks more like a blob of hair gel to me than a plug. Mine looked exactly like a giant booger with some blood streaks in it.

HAHA, I'm pretty sure I didn't put hair gel in the place I wiped mine from. And I have been getting 50/50 answers from friends and other forums... 1/2 says theirs looked like snot or a "slug" the other half said, "yeah like that... or apple jellY"

it's so bizarre, I like text book answers. "all of them look like..." but I suppose nothing in pregnancy is very textbook.

yeah mine was like that except slightly greenish in color. Get on a birthing ball!!! With Laylas pregnancy, I couldnt get up and walk or anything bc of my bedrest but I got on a birthing ball a few days before my due date and it helped me dialate and contract!

Man, why did people have to compare theirs to apple jelly? I don't think I"ll ever be able to look at that stuff the same now. But that was kind of interesting to see. I don't ever remember loosing it with my first two, and nothing so far with this one.

I lost mine at 34 weeks with my son this past April but then he wasn't born for another 5.5 weeks cause I started having contrax but they stopped them and I ended up on bedrest for 2.5 weeks.I was more blood tinged as well and it didn't look like that big but they can all look different too.And it is important to remember that no two pregnancy's are alike.

Yeah, I made the mistake of googling it a week ago when I lost mine. I couldn't eat for the rest of the day. LOL

But yes, that's what it looked like! I didn't see it with my other kids.

Interesting. This is my fourth pregnancy; with my other three, I never saw any kind of a mucous plug. Never! So I can't tell ya what mine might've looked like. Probably gross as all-get-out, that's all I can imagine.

Mine was a little like that but it was tinged brown.

You can try DTD and have DH make a "deposit" as close to your cervix as he can, that will def. soften the cervix. ALSO if you have Evening Prim Rose oil capsules you can take those orally, and insert one as close to the cervix as you can at bedtime to ripen the cervix further. If you really want to try to get things going try some castor oil mixed with OJ.... but it may make you vomit instead of start labor. GL!
