Anyone Ever Made Jam/Jelly in Their Bread Machine?
Dh saw that we can make jam/jelly (I refer to them both by both of those names-not sure what the difference is honestly) in our bread machine and he wants to try it. First off if you have, any tips? Also does anyone have any recipes that work in the bread machine? I have fresh blackberries in the fridge (picked them from my parents garden a few days ago) that I would love to use for it. Thanks mama's

Yes I have and it was great and super easy. I just followed the directions from the bread maker (its in storage in the states now or I would share). make sure you use pot holders when you take it out to put it in a jar or storage container because the pan will still be super hot.

Re: Anyone Ever Made Jam/Jelly in Their Bread Machine?
Ours has a recipe with the machine... I've wanted to try it, but I never got around to it, lol. I'm pretty sure jam is when there;s chunks of stuff and jelly is when its all smooth like grape jelly. I know that makes no sense at all...but hopefully you can figure out what I'm trying to say, lol.

Re: Anyone Ever Made Jam/Jelly in Their Bread Machine?
You know I was all excited when I bought mine that it could be used to make jam, but 3 years after buying it I still have yet to try. LOL. I really need to make some! I looked up the recipe for my machine, and here it is:
2 cups strawberries crushed (I would think blackberries could be substituted) 3/4 cup sugar 1 Tbsp lemon juice It says that it should thicken with refrigeration, but if you want it even thicker you can add up to 2 oz. of fruit pectin. If you go for it, let us know how it turns out. I'm curious!

Re: Anyone Ever Made Jam/Jelly in Their Bread Machine?
I did once and the recipe that I used was very similar if not exactly the one that Janine has posted. It turned out great, it was a softer set than a commercial jam, but that is my preference.
