Help! Bed too low for arms reach cosleeper - ideas?

I was quite surprised to find my bed is too low for the arms reach original cosleeper! It's somewhere around 21 inches - mattress and box springs without frame. The instructions say the bed height needs to be equal or higher than the bar that's 24 inches. We have the metal bed frame but I'm not too excited about lifting my bed up that much...would prefer just enough too make it equal. Ideas?
Mattress is due to be replaced - would that make any real difference?

Could you do something like this?

We actually have our bed on cinder blocks. I needed it higher than a bed frame to fit my stuff underneath and we had some extra on hand. You can't tell at all with the bed skirt.

Not sure if its an option for you, but we just sidecared a crib to our bed with just the metal frame, it works great and fits perfect for us.

Build a wooden box to the height you want. Or, buy a different mattress and boxspring that makes up the difference.
