Newborn Diaper load question

Sorry if this is TMI -

My newborn has some kind of issue and i'm trying to figure it out. He only leaves a poop stain in each diaper. Is this constipation or diarrhea? I can't tell if it is watery because it is just a mustard stain - no real poop. just wondering..

When dd was tiny, she was poopy everytime I changed her diaper. Are you thinking he's not pooping enough?

He could be hitting the fewer-poops-in-a-day point. DS3 leaves streaks in between big poops too.

Kailani did that when I was doing dairy now that I have been mostly dairy free, his poops are back to normal (his diapers would just look like someone used a yellow marker in it, nothing to touch)

Kellymom says 10 days to 3 weeks for it to be out. A significant percentage will also react to soy, goats milk, and sheep's milk. Some kids will also react to beef.
