Re: I bought a rump roast...
I would throw that bad-mamma-jamma in the crock pot on low, pour a can of vegetable chunky soup over it, and let it simmer away! I let mine go 8-9 hours and it is SUCH a fast easy recipe! Falls apart and the chunky soup makes a GREAT gravy! I put the soup in a food processor afterwards, grind up all the veggies, and use it as gravy.
I'm a 1 or 2 step kind of gal!

Re: I bought a rump roast...
crock pot with 1-2 cans of gravy or soup mix, put cut up onions, potatoes & carrot in the bottom, toss in some caraway seeds & let it sit all day.....you will be able to cut it with a fork.

,m mn hggx - sorry, my nephew is helping me type.
Yep, I would crockpot it!! lol If you don't have a crockpot you could cook in the oven. I coat mine in dry onion soup mix, wrap in foil and put in baking dish. 350° for 3 hours.

Re: I bought a rump roast...
you can put it in the crockpot with a can or 2 of beef broth and a packet of taco seasoning...then after a few hours shred it and have tacos or burritos...
I also put it in the crockpot with a packet of lipton onion soup mix, a large can of beef broth and half a bag to whole bag of broccoli, then serve over rice...

Re: I bought a rump roast...
This is the easiest, best recipe ever!
How big is your roast? This is what I do: 2.5lb-4 lb roast 1 package dry brown gravy mix 1 package dry Italian salad dressing mix 1 package dry onion soup mix Mix this altogether with 2 cups water. Put roast in crock pot, pour mixture over. Optional: Top roast with 1/2 jar mild banana peppers. Let cook for 8 hours. I usually put in some beef stock at around hour 5 and then add some potatoes and carrots. DH loves this!

Re: I bought a rump roast...
Crock pot! Toss it in on low with a can of cola, drain the cola when the meat shreds easily with a fork, shred it all and add your favorite bbq sauce, simmer on low for an hour. Awesome BBQ!!!
Throw it in with a jar of salsa, shred after 8 hours, great for burritos, tacos, etc. Put it in the crock pot on low with a can of cranberry sauce (jellied or whole, your choice) and a packet of onion soup mix. Serve with potatoes, use the sauce for gravy.

Re: I bought a rump roast...
Thanks everyone, I totally made it the other day before there were really any replies and I actually did it in the oven. It came out SO good!
I rubbed it with olive oil and then put salt an pepper in it. I made slits all around the meat and the put garlic cloves in them. i cooked it fat side up at 325 for 30 minuts, then at 225 for 2 more hours. It had a great flavor and was so good! I bought another one and will keep these ideas in mind
