I think it's perfectly normal to want your child to have his/her own birthday, regardless. I have one family member with a birthday in September- the 9th- and she just happens to be the family member I like the least. My midwife already knows I really don't want to go into labor that day. She seems convinced, though, that due to my feeling about it, that WILL be the day.
Look at the bright side: you only have 6.5 more hours until your step-son's birthday is over, so unless you're in labor now, odds of them sharing a b-day are slim.

I would actually be pissed if I were you, that he hadnt mentioned the kids birthday until now... and I would feel the same way and would not want the baby to be born today!! Good luck mama!!

I don't think you are being unreasonable at all.

We are trying to avoid (not really sure what that means except hoping it happens a a different day! ) the 8th, 12th, 18th, 22nd, 26th, and 27th. This month is crazy as far as birthdays and 2 of the birthdays are of people that I really really dislike for legitimate reasons -- tomorrow being one of the 2.

If it happens it happens but I'd be bummed and then get over it. Kinda like I was praying that Kate would not come on Halloween. She didn't!

My DS was actually born on his half-sister's bday. I've never met her and not sure i will. DF didn't tell me it was the same bday until after our son was born. Ava was almost born on the same day too! How odd is that! Luckily she was born the day after. DF wanted her to have the same birthday too...prolly just so he wouldn't have to remember another date! lol

I think it's normal. My SD was 8 when my DD was born. I was hoping she wouldn't be born on her birthday but she ended up being born 6 days later. Thank goodness!
