Fleece or flannel liner for circ?

Hi!

Ok, so I was waiting for the meconium stage to be over to start cloth and at almost four days, that is (of course) completely gone. I am absolutely dying to get him into cloth, but my hubby is insistent that we continue to use Vaseline until the doc's appt. tomorrow...fine, no problem. He gets some say, too, and I understand his concern. It's so warm here today and his little rump is sooo red - it needs to breathe! SO, the question is...

1. Can Vaseline be on PF's? (I know everyone suggests a liner for repelling issues, but I think I saw someone comment that PF's don't need them? Can someone clarify??)

2. If I do need a liner...does it have to be fleece, or could I use a flannel receiving blanket without it sticking?

By the way, the circ itself looks great in general...the doctors, nurses, and lactation consultants have said it is healing perfectly, so no issues there.

Please, no debate on whether we made the "right" choice to circ our son...that was our discussion and our decision...just wondering how best to make it most comfortable for him to be in cloth. Thanks in advance!!

Re: Fleece or flannel liner for circ?

I just cut up baby wash cloths and it worked just fine. I would use a liner on your prefold- I am afraid to do anything to damage my prefolds =) I'd use a wool cover or fleece for extra air circulation-it definitely makes a difference-if you don't have any just let him be in a prefold only and change him a bunch (I did this with the umbilical cord-first time mom fears)
Congrats!

I am due in november and don't know if it is a boy or girl and never had a boy before - so this is the first time we have had to consider circumcision, and we are finding it difficult to decide - what helped you with your decision?

subbing!
We're having a boy in Feb. I've never dipaered a boy so I'm lost. We are going to circ (and like you, that's our decision and I really hate getting flamed for it. It actually sucks to have to ASK not to be flamed, but I understand people are adament about not circ-ing and that's fine) anyway, I want to do cloth as soon as the meconium stage is done too. GL!

I'd love to share since you're asking...PM'ing you to keep things neutral!
