Is dizziness normal?

Hi mamas! It's been a while since I was last on DS. I am 9 weeks pregnant and have been very dizzy. I have almost blacked out several times. I drink plenty of water and eat often. I do not see the OB for another 3 weeks and did not have this issue with my first 2 pregnancies. Has anyone else had dizziness during the first trimester?

Re: Is dizziness normal?

I get it worst my first trimester as my body is redirecting blood supply...I have low blood pressure pregnant which adds to it...I'm 36wks, and it's tapered off, but I still certainly have my days...It was worst with my DD1...I walked a lot of stairs that pregnancy too...

Re: Is dizziness normal?

It's always one of my first symptoms of pregnancy. And like the PP said, it is quite common in the first trimester because of the increasing blood supply.

Yup, completely normal and annoying! With dd I had to deal with it my entire pregnancy. This time around seems even worse than the last time. I'm hope it gets better! It's scary on the stairs!

I remember getting dizzy with each of my pregnancies. I wouldn't worry and congrats

i think it's normal. earlier in my pregnancy i used to get dizzy very easily and almost feel faint. especially if i went from inside to outside or if i was experiencing stress. drinking lots of water and resting when you need to will probably help a lot. congrats mama!

Completely normal. But as someone who was anemic in her previous pregnancy and is borderline now, I would recommend getting an iron check when you go in to see your OB/MW. It is a quick and easy test, but an important one. Dizziness is normal, but it can also be a sign of anemia. No harm in ruling that out

Re: Is dizziness normal?

I have found that I am less likely to get dizzy if i eat some protien first thing in the morning. I know thats hard to do in the early stages when you have ms. But that really helped me.

Thank you ladies! You have really relieved worry for me. I will still let my doctor know at my first appointment, but in the meantime I will not be so worried about it.
