how do you get the smell out??!!

I bought some fb's from another mom. I was disappointed because the fleece is dingy, almost like a mold. I washed them with my own, stripped them, washed them again, line dried them, washed them again w/no detergent this time, used baking soda, used vinager, let them sit overnight in vinager, then rinsed them and dried in the dryer again.........is there a way to get this smell out? Its disgusting and I won't put it on my babe's butt smelling like a 2 day old diaper pail!

Well, the only thing I can recommend is Dawn and Tea Tree Oil. Just use some original Dawn in your wash instead of the detergent, then after the rinse cycle do a second wash with Dawn and then after that rinse cycle do a second rinse cycle with Tea Tree Oil (like 5 drops or so). This might really get those diapers shaped up. Good luck!

ETA: I'm sorry that a mama would be so mean! Selling you something icky like that is just not right.

Try hydrogen peroxide...always works for me (on the inside fleece part)

Use bleach! Bleach will kill the bacteria. Wash with bleach in HOT water. Then double rinse or triple rinse after to get the bleach out. It sounds like there is a ton of bacteria in there.

PP's gave good suggestions for the stink. FB's seem to collect more lint inside the pocket than any other kind of pocket dipe I have, and it looks horrible from the outside. Turn them inside out, and you might find a lot of colored lint buildup inside the corners and in the creases. Try washing them inside-out once too.

I'd suggest giving them a wash with a little bit of bleach as well!

Yep! You can put alittle bleach in most things. You just don't want to dump a cup full or anything. Try a couple cap fulls in a large load and see how that does.
