i shake the inserts out before i put them in the pail. it seems less yucky that way - less chance of mildew. i wash every other day.

Thanks for the input everyone! I've only ever used prefolds and AIOs, I'm looking forward to pockets. If I had the money I'd try everything though! Have a good one!
