I discovered this recipe here on DS and no tahini. I can't remember who posted it but I'm giving credit to whoever you are!
"No tahini" hummus
1 large clove of garlic or spoonful of jarred chopped garlic
1 can (15.5 oz) of garbanzo (chick peas) beans (I've only used rehydrated dried beans and they are wonderful)
3 tbs. sour cream
3 tbs. lemon juice (it says fresh but I use the bottled kind)
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. ground cumin
1/4 c. extra virgin olive oil
Mince garlic (if you use fresh) in the food processor (I use a blener). Add everything else but save the olive oil. Process until ALMOST smooth. With machine still running add the olive oil until mixture is smooth.
We have been using this recipe since it was post too! Love it! We have gone sour cream less in our house, so I use homemade plain yogurt and it is yummy!!!
