My Mood:
I think I've decided! Sonlight! For those that ue it, please read...

After much research, I think I've decided on Sonlight for our grade 1 curriculum for next year. I think it's everything I've been looking for.

For those of you that use it, is there anything I should know beforehand that could save me some money (alternate place to buy consumables or things I don't need to buy that they suggest)?

My dd will be 6 and starting grade 1. My ds1 will be 5 and starting Kindergarten. I was planning on purchasing the Sonlight Newcomer Kit 1 to use with dd, then rebuy the consumables the next year for ds1 (when he is in grade 1). I notice the kits overlap though, so I'm confused as to what I should do for dd for Grade 2 - do I buy a new kit? Do I just purchase a few things separately??

I only used it one year and had enough money available I didn't worry about it. But my piece of advice is to look online at the books you will be using and see what your library has. Either get books from the library or shop around to get them used, borrow them from friends, etc.
