how do you keep the car seat WARM?

So, I now understand (years ago when my teens were babies, the info wasn't out there) about not big coats in carseats and I have some fleece blankets to put over him in the car....but, what about the seat itself being so COLD in the mornings? I have to take my husband to work very early every day and he is sometimes asleep when I take him (the baby, not the husband ). We don't have a garage or anything. does anyone go to their car early and put the heat on or I was thinking maybe the rice-filled socks to warm the back of the seat til I put him in? Suggestions?

We usually warm up the car before we get in.

I was wondering the same thing. I think DS hates the carseat because of the cold.

Warmed rice sacks is actually a *really* good idea! But yeah, we just usually warm up the car for about 10-15 minutes, before we go anywhere, when it's real cold out.

I try to warm up the car in the mornings before we go out but we have plush covers (MA) so my kids have never complained about them being cold.

I live in Canada and although we do park in a garage it is not heated so it is often well below freezing. We do not heat the vehicle because we park in a garage, LOL and the kids have never complained. Have you looked into getting the baby a fleece jacket as opposed to just using a blanket? My kids both have fleece from MEC and they have never complained

when it's cold out it's better for your car to let it warm up anyway. warming up it up with rice filled socks is a really good idea too.

I warm up the car if for some reason I'm parked outside. It is not good for your car to drive it stone cold.
