Potty Learning/Training HELP!

Oh my goodness, I feel like I might pull my hair out! But don't worry, I'm nothing but positive, happy and cheering my DS on! I couldn't find anything on here - though I'm sure it's been discussed.

My 32 month old and the potty have a love hate relationship. Actually, he does great with the potty as long as he's naked. But if I put some undies on him, it's like...he no longer recognizes the need to go? Or maybe he feels something there and assumes it's a diaper? I don't have the answer. I'm trying to talk him through it and remind him that the pee doesn't go in the undies or on the foor, but rather in the potty. Is there a trick that I'm missing? Has anyone experienced this? Is it completely normal? We were at this exact same juncture 4-6 months ago and didn't progress so I thought I must have started too soon and decided to halt it all after 2 months. I decided now would be a great time since we have the Thanksgiving holiday, my daycare kids are off this week, he only has one day of school, and he's not at biodad's for a week and a half. (Which as a sidenote might be a huge part of the problem since biodad is NOT on board but he isn't on board with anything and is difficult in everything). If you have any advice, tips, suggestions, encouragement, or wisdom to offer, please send it my way. TIA!
Amber

Re: Potty Learning/Training HELP!

What we did with potty training DD was barebottom for a week. Then VERY loose pants-no undies- on short trips for a week. Then very loose pants most of the time. Then undies after that.

With DS1 (my first) he didn't do very well until after he started wearing boxers instead of briefs. My mom made him some tiny boxers. Once he started wearing those the accidents were gone.

How VERY interesting! I just figured out how to go back to the threads I started and I found this response. I hadn't thought of that! Thanks so much for the tip! Maybe this will be the breakthrough we need!
