I use the crockpot too, according the link above. I've been making yogurt every week for a looong time now, six months or more I think, and I've only had three batches fail, so that's pretty good. You will want to strain it though if you like thick yogurt. I use a thin towel in a mesh colander and let the yogurt drain until it's thick like Greek yogurt. Even with all that whey drained off, we still get a quart+ of yogurt from 8 cups of milk, so it's still cheaper than buying yogurt (and way cheaper than buying Greek yogurt!).
