Almonds to make milk richer?

How many almonds should I be eating to make my milk richer? How long after I start eating them will it take for me to notice a difference in my milk? What if YDS has a problem with them and I need to stop eating them, how long will it take for them to get out of my system? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to find a way to fatten my little guy up since all the kids in the house are sick and hes not putting on any weight right now.

Re: Almonds to make milk richer?

I hadn't ever heard of eating almonds to make milk richer, but I guess any kind of natural fat would work. Can you eat dairy also? It seems like grass-fed butter would work well also, or coconut oil.

Common sense makes me think that it might take a few days to make a difference, at the longest.

I can eat dairy but not alot at once. If I eat to much dairy in one day DS face will break out in a bunch of little red dots. I usually eat yogurt each day.

Sorry to ay that anything you eat adding fat to your milkis an old wives tale.

Here are some great links,

http://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/mi...e-milkfat.html

here is what will actually help

The degree of emptiness of the breast is what research has shown to drive breastmilk fat content, and thus calorie content. The fuller the breast, the lower the fat content of the milk; The emptier the breast, the higher the fat content of the milk
