Are premade lactation cookies worth the expense?

I haven't had any supply issues so far but we are only 3 months into our journey. Since I've just returned to work I did order a milk support tincture but it tastes awful! Are premade lacatation cookies worth getting? Some of them seem so expensive but I really do not have a great deal of spare time to sit and bake...

I used a recipe i found online and just made them at home. Cheaper and brewers yeast last forever lol you can also make a ton and freeze them

And did it really make a difference for your supply? Good idea to just make and freeze them myself if they last a long time.

I made a batch today from this recipe
http://www.food.com/recipe/oatmeal-c...rujillo-192346
I doubled it and have lots to give to a friend and freeze for myself
Not sure how well they work yet, but figured if I am going to be eating cookies, they might as well be doing something!

I never found any of this kind of stuff to affect my supply But I'd spend the money once to try!

Re: Are premade lactation cookies worth the expense?

My friend gave me some premade lactation cookies, and I personally didn't see anything wonderful about them. Oatmeal at breakfast and mother's milk tea did just as well as the cookies, if not more. I actually found that raw swiss chard did WONDERS for my supply. Nasty bitter stuff, but I choked it down in sandwiches in place of lettuce. Worth a shot!

Re: Are premade lactation cookies worth the expense?

I was really skeptical, but I made these:

http://www.design.noelove.com/cook/?p=136

and WOW! I had to cut back on how many I ate. I had a lot of supply issues with my first baby, so my mom made them the day after I gave birth and I saw a definite difference. To test it, I made more a few weeks after my initial batch ran out and noticed a difference again.

And they did freeze well.

I bought the premade ones from Milk Makers and the difference in supply is noticeable. I found Milk Makers to be too expense so, I just used the recipe above.
