is 4 months too young to introduce a sippy cup?

DS has only had one bottle... He hated it, played with it and 'took forever' according to DH. That was like a month ago. I want to skip bottles all together and just introduce a sippy cup instead... Is he old enough yet?

Just would like an option in case I'm not around.... I don't pump (it's not worth it when he wakes right after I pump every time!) but do have a stash of donor milk to use for those times I might not get back in time... Instead of him screaming and getting himself worked up.

If he's old enough, what kind do you recommend? Is he too young for a straw?

I think it depends on the baby the most. With DD I started her with a straw sippy cup around 4 months but she didnt really take to it until more around 5 1/2-6 months. With YDS Im not gonna start him on one or try him on one until around 6 months.

we used this with my DS when he was 5mos. He too didnt take to the nipple of a bottle very well, but I like how this was interchangable. We've also used these.

I dont know when we will introduce with daughter....she's never left my side since she was born...except when I had to have a D&C the end of Nov.

My 3 month old learned a straw cup easily. It was way easier for DH to give her the cup than the bottle. Just give it a try a few times. If your LO is ready, it'll work out. Good luck!
