Excruciating pain while nursing is *never normal.* That doesn't mean that it isn't common, or that there isn't a good reason for what the OP is experiencing but it's not normal. The pain she is describing is a red flag, along with the fluttery tongue (fatigue from the tongue-tie), lack of contentment, etc.
