My first pair of longies!!

Yesterday I finished my first pair of longies!!! I am so super excited :-) They are baby gift for a friend who will be using cloth and I made a matching Owlie hat to go with them. She is due any day now with baby #3 (boy#2)

I just taught myself how to knit at the beginning of December and have had so much fun trying new things! I was nervous to try longies though because of the splitting for the legs and joining at the gusset - but it wasn't really that hard thanks to YouTube! They are knit with Cascade 220 Heathers in navy blue with beige trim.

there are a few flaws to be sure (errors in the seed stitch cuffs where I wasn't paying attention ) and a couple small holes (loose stitches maybe? not really sure what happened - but I was able to "fix" them when weaving in my ends so they aren't as noticeable at least!).

Can't wait to make some more!! Next on the list is a pair of shorties for my munchkin - I have really yummy hand spun wool that was a Christmas gift that I'm going to be brave and use.

I have bee trying so hard to teach myself to knit and I think that it is just something I am not capable of! So I am very impressed that in such a short time you can create such a masterpiece!

I agree. It's like I have two left hands It all seems so overwhelming.
