Red face Changing nap times - WWYD?

DS is 13 mos. He has been a pretty good napper for the most part and usually sleeps through the night. As of late, he has decided that napping isn't his thing anymore! I know he is tired and he turns into a crab really quickly. He usually has 45 mins in the morning and 1 1/2 - 2 hours in the afternoon. Lately, all I can get him to nap for is the morning nap Then he is up all day. I try to get him to go for a nap in the afternoon but he won't He is obviously tired, yawning, rubbing his eyes, etc. He has started walking and I have returned to work. So I know there are some big changes for him right now. I was thinking of trying to deal with a crabby baby in the morning and just try to keep him up until the afternoon and cut him down to one nap. He just still seems like he needs the both still. Yesterday he slept for 45 mins in the morning and that was it Then he was up until almost 7:00pm. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

That was exactly how dd acted when she was ready to drop to just the afternoon nap. She adjusted very quickly (less than a week) to just having an afternoon nap instead of both morning and afternoon. I started out just moving the morning nap later and later until it was completely in the afternoon.

It will be a tricky couple of weeks, but I love having one long nap in the afternoon now.

My DD did that around the same age. We ended up dropping the morning nap. It took her about a week or 2 to really get fully adjusted. It worked out better for us in the long run anyway. DD naps a little earlier than most kids (noon) now and goes down easily at night.

Thanks! I just need to figure out how to keep him up until the afternoon! He is ready around 9:00am for his morning nap. This is going to be tricky I think!
