changing detergents, help me please

I just went to ecogeeks to buy my detergent. Well DH has been buying it since we started getting it and I realized how expensive it is and the shipping is outrageous, SO I need to switch to something I can get cheaper, that works just as good and is easy to find or I can get free shipping. I know I need to go read the Alioop thread, going there now, but please give me some good recommendations for moderately hard water and an old school top loader

Thanks!

maybe country save? imho the free & clear formulas aren't very eco-friendly... they are just free of dyes and scents?

Re: changing detergents, help me please

I've had luck with Country Save on my natural fiber diapers since I switched from RnG. Can't say it's helped my microfiber inserts, but I don't use them much anyway

Re: changing detergents, help me please

thanks, besides my pockets and covers, they're all natural fibers - my inserts are cotton or bamboo or hemp (though some of the bamboo does have zorb) and the rest of the time i use bamboo ETPFs or cotton flats so it shouldn't be hard. i live in a really small town, i have to drive to another town to even go to the grocery store so I don't have many options (BUT we are moving soon and I will have options) so I need to see what they have. I'm going to make a list from the suggestions y'all gave me. Thanks!

What were you using? When it worked for us I loved Charlies it lasted forever and the cost was really good especially if we bought a lot at once. Sadly we started to react poorly to it though.

Re: changing detergents, help me please

I was using Oxy-Prime and it is great. I still have about a weeks worth left but the only place you can get it is ecogeeks.com and I like to buy it in bulk but shipping is so expensive! DH used to order it though our company but we closed it so now we're just buying it outright and I hate that, lol! So, I want something that's just easier to get than having to order online, you know? I will definitely switch back if I can't find something that works from the grocery store, but I want to try to do something more simple for a while!
