I will take Claritin to help dry up the draining from my sinuses and sleep with breath right strips on my nose at night. I run the vaporizor and put a little Vicks on my feet or some Thieves (from Young Living essential oils). I was starting to get sick last week Wed I felt horrible I put Thieves on my feet with socks on, ran the vaporizor, took my Claritin and extra vitamin C and I was 100% better in 2 days. Usually colds will knock me out for a week. I was pretty impressed. Hope you feel better soon.

Is Nyquil/Dayquil safe to take while nursing? I didn't think so???

Here is a link with lots of great info on natural remedies and also what is safe medication wise: http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/cold-remedy.html
A cold is just a virus and has to run it's coarse. You are treating the symptoms, not the cold. Unless.. you've developed a respiratory infection, then you would need antibiotics to kick it. Hope you feel better soon.

I take dayquil when I reach the end of my rope with a sickness-like a cough that makes me pee my pants.

Re: what can I take for this cold?

Well I was going to buy something at the drug store from the kellymom link, but haven't gotten a chance to yet. I did try the anise steam though (since I had some around already) and that was nice. I think time has finally caught up and that helps too. I'm gonna save that link for next time too (seems like we are always sick )
