Knitting ? eyelet placement?

Ok, I'm knitting a set with a top, longies and hat and the top and hat have a k1p1 edge. I wanted to do the waistband on the longies to match but now I am about halfway through and realized eyelet placement would be different than k3p1 or k2p2, so my question is, would you do eyelets in each of the purl stitches? or would you do them every other purl stitch? Thanks in advance you knitty ladies on here are all so awesome!

I'd probabaly do every other stitch, but how many total sts do you have? If it's nb size, you might need every st. You might get more answers if you posted directly in Craft chat than show & tell.
