My Mood:
wool lovers, is this true???

so i just went to: and saw this info and I wanted to know if anyone had actually ever managed to unshrink a wool cover of any sort before.

From "There are two problems with wool care that are sometimes reported by consumers, and both are easily correctable. First, should you shrink a wool cover (e.g. by washing it with the diapers on hot, as I have done), you can return the cover to very close to its original size by an easy procedure that involves soaking it in a mixture of hair conditioner and water and then stretching it by hand."

Postdoc'ing mama to DD(5/16/06) and another on the way (7/09).

Re: wool lovers, is this true???

It helps but if you've really felted it the fibers stick together and it's never going to look the same as it did before. If you start with a large "oops" felted cover you'll still end up with a small or medium. If you catch it as soon as it goes in the hot wash chances are better that it can be stretched. It's extreme temp changes & agitation that cause felting.
