Accepting Money Orders?

Just curious about these, I have never used them but I have an item on eBay and there's a lady wondering if she can pay me with a money order. I have NO clue about this so any info you have is greatly appreciated

Thank you!

Re: Accepting Money Orders?

From what I understand MO's are no longer a form of payment on Ebay.

Per Ebay:
"Payment by personal check, cashier's check, bank-to-bank transfers, or money order isn't allowed for most eBay purchases."

I thought that seller's couldn't say they accept money orders, but if a buyer asked it would be okay. I've taken them in the past when it was a grandma or something buying something small. USPS money order only.

If it is a high $ item, be cautious. MOs are easily faked, even postal ones.

I wouldn't.

Tell her to give the cash to a friend and use their paypal account. They will need to note in paypal the correct address to ship to.Make sure to get DC or insurance on the package as well.

Did your listing say you accept that form of payment? I'm a "paypal only" girl, myself. IMO taking a money order is the equivalent of taking a personal check.

I've taken MO, but that's just my policy. It's nice not having to pay paypal fees, but then you don't have the same protection either. I do agree though that I believe on Ebay you are only supposed to take paypal as a form of payment. Even if she doesn't have a paypal account, she can technically pay via credit or debit card without logging in.
