Need healthy recommendation for non-slip bath mat

So I picked up a bath mat from Wal-Mart a few months ago but the stench was horrible. I washed it several times and even left it outdoors for two weeks to off-gas but the smell was still too much to ensure let alone use in the bathroom. One night I thought something in the house was on fire but it turned out to be the smell of this mat. I ended up throwing it away but now DH and I still need something to reduce the risk of slipping in our tub/shower.

I suppose I could lay out a large towel but if there are other alternatives I would love to hear them.

I saw some cute non-skid bath decals in the baby section of Wal-Mart but like most things they are made in China and probably full of crap materials.

Try searching for a silicone or latex one. They may have one at your local hardware store.
