DIY Face Cleanser
Was hoping some of you Green Mamas could help me out. I have very fair skin that tends to dry out really easily. I had been using Cetaphil my dermatologists recommendation, but I am not loving it. I never wear makeup, and never really washed my face until a few years ago. I was naturally blessed with great skin, but now age (39) is catching up to me...lol.
And EASY to make face washes? Really, I am clueless on any type of beauty regimen....

Have you heard of the oil cleansing method? Its supposed to work for all skin types - I haven't done it yet, but plan on starting this weekend once I get some castor oil. Google it and you'll find tons of info!

Re: DIY Face Cleanser
You can use raw honey. It's great. I use that every few days and not only is it yummy because it gets into your mouth, it's non toxic. Wet your face and apply some honey to it. Then, doing circular motions, wash your face. Rinse off with warm water. You can add sugar to make it an defoliant.

Re: DIY Face Cleanser
Mama's using the oil method how often do you wash with the mixture? Seems like doing this everyday would not work well for me but if you only need it once or twice a week I can see how it would work

When I started out I had to do it every other day, but as my face got used to not being washed every day, I now only need to do it 2-3 times a week (depending on my activities that week). The other days I sometimes wipe it with a washcloth, but that's it. |

Re: DIY Face Cleanser
I use strawberry yogurt and I love how great my face looks and feels. I have combination skin, so I would either be super greasy or super dry depending on what face wash I was using. Since using the strawberry yogurt I hard ever have to put moisturizer on my face (I use extra virgin olive oil as a moisturizer). If you have strawberry yogurt in the house I say try it for a week and see what you think.
