Re: Best choice for Momma cloth?

I don't have anything to compare them to, but I won a liner & a pad from The Silver Liner (Doodlebrainette on DS). They are super comfy & flannel-topped & she's doing a 15% off sale now. I think I also saw that she's testing minky-topped ones right now, too. The prices are good & they're well made & since I use the ones I have as backup (for tampons), I know they're perfect for that.

Thank you mamas for the sweet words. Yes all you need are pantyliners/light pads for that. I like cotton topped and fleece backed for pantyliners/light pads. That way you can use them for anything (cup or tampon backup, light days, every day). *spam alert* If you are still looking for light pads I have them in grab bags for a good price. *spam over*

I finally figured out the cup myself and LOVE IT!!

I will add another vote for light pads from Michelle (GEM Cloth). I have a whole bunch of them and they are awesome.

I'm also a fan of minky for its stain resistance.

Good for you for choosing cloth over disposables!

Re: Best choice for Momma cloth?

I have found that, just like with CDs, it's best to try a few different kinds and see what you like. For me, I find that I like a bigger cloth pad, even when I am just using it as a liner. It is just more comfortable to me somehow, maybe because it doesn't move around, but I think most would disagree. I like fleece-backed with cotton/flannel top. My favorite is Punky's Pads which you can find on etsy.

Re: Best choice for Momma cloth?

Hi There! :-) I agree with the post by Marenmccoy, above. If it's possible, it's great to try several brands of mama cloth. Every body is so different, and different shapes and fabrics work for different people.

In addition to sets, most WAHM businesses sell their pads singularly, so you can just try one out and see what you think of their sizing/shape/comfort/fabric-choice/value before you buy a whole bunch. I have purchased from ALL of the following vendors at one time or another in the last 18 months, and I can highly recommend all of them--they each have their strengths. (And all of the WAHM's are SUPER friendly and easy to do business with!) If you don't see any "single pads" listed on their sites, I would email the WAHM and tell them you are new to cloth, and that you'd like an inexpensive "custom" single pad just to try their product out. Apparently some will let you do this, if you pay a minimal charge and/or just the price of shipping. It's worth a try!

Here are some vendors you might want to browse:
dominopads.com
hyenacart.com -- Seller: Homestead Emporium
hyenacart.com -- Seller: TreeHugger
justfussy.com
partypantspads.com

Due to a health condition and severe chemical sensitivities, I had to start using cloth pads over 20 years ago; it didn't take me long before I felt the "cloth love." :-) Honestly, I ABSOULUTELY love cloth pads--I would never go back. On the rare instance where I have had to temporarily use disposable products due to a "surprise period" while traveling, I have missed my soft, comfy cloth pads SO MUCH!

Best of luck to you as you do your research and find the pad that is best for your needs!
Kind Regards, WooKid

Re: Best choice for Momma cloth?

Thanks everyone for all the responses, I think I will try a few of the choices recommended and get an idea about what type of pad I am looking for.
