More Wool Questions

I just made Taci her first pair of recycled longies
Please don't laugh I'm so not crafty and I had to handsew these.

Anyway. Am I right that you can use wool without a cover? Even at night?
Also I read that you can dry wool with direct heat, would line drying in hot,hot Arizona be direct heat? Right now the longies feel really scratchy, will the lanolin make them softer? About how often does wool need washed, provided it's not pooped on?
What else should I know?

Thanks a bunch

Re: More Wool Questions

mmk, i'll answer as many as i

first they look great! don't be ashamed of em!!

wool doesnt' require a cover, what it does require is lanolin to help it become more waterproof...i like getting scented lanolin (got some from b/c it helps you know when you need to re-lanolinize, when the smell goes away, you need to wash and lanolinize...if you're just using em at night they can go for quite a while (a month or so) if they are in constant use i would go more for the 1wk-2wk with direct heat i wouldn't do a dryer...i would hang it up to dry in the house overnight and if it still needed more out on the line, but dryers scare me w/wool i think that's everything...

Re: More Wool Questions

the only worry at night is that it is too breathable. At least for the very young, the wet diaper can get too cold, or so I have been told.
